I hired Albany Court Reporting for a deposition at the New York State Department of Taxation. The deposition took place from 12:14pm to 12:35pm. Roughly 20 minutes. The court reporter at the deposition informed me that the cost of the deposition would be less than $100.00. However, when I received a bill from Albany Court Reporting, the bill was for $535,00, a shcoking amount for a 32 page deposition transcript. The usual cost for such a transcript whould be $5.00 per page for a total cost of $160.00. When I tried to talk to the representative from Albany Court Reporting, they were rude, and refused to lower their fee, as the representative indicated they have a minium deposition fee of $500.00. I checked Albany Cort Reporting’s Website and no where in the website does it state anything about a mimium fee. Alabny Court Reporting is a ripoff. | Sincerely, | Steve | Garden City, New York |
