Original Complaint against Alpine Mortgage Planning published at on 20-Oct-14 says, verbatim –

I applied for a loan with Dallas Isom with Alpine mortgage. The loan was supposed to close 1/10/2014. It did not and the bank that owned the house, wanted me to forfiet my earnest money. We, the Realtor and I, asked if there were any issues with the loan. He said no, they were waiting on one more document. So I agreed to forfiet the earnest money if the loan did not close. The loan closed 10/17/2014. Now Dallas is telling us that the house has to be brought up to code within 10 days of closing so that Alpine can sell the loan. He had my Realtor running around meeting contractors today. My Realtor had to cancel his other appointments. I am a handy”man” and planned on doing the repairs when I arrive in Henderson on Nov 7th. Unfortunately that is more than 10 days after the close of the loan. They expect me to pay someone to do the work that I am capable of doing. If I don’t agree to this, they will not give me the loan and I will lose $3,500 earnest money, the cost of the appraisal and the home inspection. Dallas should have told us that there were contingencies over a month ago when they received the appraisal report. | Something is fishy since they cannot do the work until I own the house, but are making me agree to it now. If it is my house, shouldn’t I be able to do the work myself. | Why did they wait until now to tell us this? My Realtor has never heard of such a thing. | Alpine Mortgage lied and deceived us. This is fraud and should be prosecuted.
