I will never be back AMS Urgent Care again. The only reason I went to this clinic is due to they were in a network for my insurance and accepted patients after 6pm.I came in and told the front desk person that I just need a strep test as I believe I have strep throat .She checked my insurance and let me know that I did not meet my deductible yet (which I knew ) and although the test itself is $63.They also charge for a Dr.Visit $270. I advised her that Im only looking for strep test and she told me I could let the nurse know when they see me .When the nurse called me I told them again Im just looking for a strep test.He took the test and a few min later a female came in who said she is a PA and is going to check my ears and take my heart rate as an exam.I told her Im not looking for an exam just need a strep test which a nurse already took.She told me it is part of a visit and she needs to check it.I was in the room for 10 min total and was charged $300 for strep test and for her to check my ears and heart rate .The PA has also asked me what anti biotic I think she should prescribe me? I told her Im not sure I am not a Doctor -I could not believe that !
