I recently had Bellhops help me move in the DC Metro area, and it was a mixed-bag at best. The move started out poorly as a clerical error lead to my moving team showing up to the wrong city. I understood it wasnt their fault so we pressed on. The team themselves were extremely professional and courteous.Upon unloading my furniture at the new place, I discovered that my couch was destroyed in the process of the move. The lead Bellhop apologized and took pictures. When I attempted to file a claim, thats when things got worse. It seems Bellhops pays out claims based on the weight of an object NOT on the value of the object. I have dealt with multiple moving companies before and have never encountered this method for customer reimbursement. Under this model, a $10k vase might be reimbursed at the same rate as a box of loose paper if they have the same weight. This is completely illogical and does nothing to help the customer deal with lost/broken items.Please be aware that if your items are damaged, you will most likely NOT be able to repair/replace them under the ridiculous reimbursement model applied by Bellhops. I will not be using Bellhops again and will caution anyone I know about their services.
