Cyprus Credit Union seriously SUCKS! I got a loan for a car thru them in order to build credit. After about 3 weeks I decided that the interest was not worth it, and I decided to pay for the loan entirely.It appears as tho they dont want anyone to actually pay off loans because this is the ringer that they put me thru to finally be able to pay off the loan:1- I never recieved any piece of mail regarding my loan, so I never knew what my account number was, my balance, or any other piece of information regarding my loan.When I called in to ask for my account information, they said they are not allowed to give me that information over the phone.What happens if I dont live near a branch?!? Because their branches are basically only located in west valley, I had to leave work early, and drive an extra half hour just to get to the bank.The service at the bank was fine, and I got my account information.However, they left out a HUGE detail, that you cant login online with just your account number.2- By the time I got back home and discovered that I could not login online because I didnt have enough information, it was after 5:30 MST, which is when their customer service closes up shop for the night.I didnt know that credit unions didnt have 24 hour support, so I tried calling, just to be told after punching in about 10 number, that their offices are closed and there is no after hour support! Awesome3- When I called into the main offices for support the following day, they let me know that again, they couldnt give me any information over the phone regarding my account or online login information. (Now Im starting to understand why they dont have 24 customer support, because they dont help you over the phone!) Fast forward to the end of my work day, I have to leave early AGAIN and drive 30 minutes AGAIN to get to a branch, get the information I needed, after SPECIFICALLY requesting it and having the branch manager have to get the information. So 2 days and 2 extra hours of driving later, I was finally able to pay off my loan.This is the MOST inconvenient bank/credit union I have ever dealt with.I have had a a different financial institutions bank account for years, and I havent been super happy with them, but after this experience with Cyprus, my bank looks like the Michael Jordan of banks.I would NEVER recommend Cyprus to anyone. Ill never use them for anything, ever again.
