Even having a friend refer me, I was really looking forward to making Downtown Phoenix Dental my new dentist, especially since they are less than 2 miles from my home. Sadly my experience was not the same as others. When I called to schedule I explained that I would be a new patient and asked if they needed any previous records, I was told they just needed me to complete the new patient forms.I also asked for a quote on the price for a cleaning, as I do not have dental insurance, and was told they could not give me one over the phone. When I arrived at my appointment, I was immediately quoted $189.00 for an exam, x-rays and a cleaning. I shared that I had x-rays taken in November at my former dentist.When asked if Id had them sent I explained that I was not asked to when I scheduled, even after inquiring about the need for any of my previous records. I asked if I could have them sent and forgo additional x-rays at this time and if the quote of $189.00 could be reduced due to not having x-rays.I was then given the quote of $159.00. When asked if they could do any better, the woman at the front desk said shed need to check in back. When she returned she said that $189.00 was the best they could do. When I asked her about the previous quote of $159.00 she said that $189.00 was the discounted rate, even without x-rays. I am glad that others have had good experiences with Downtown Phoenix Dental and I hope they continue to. For me I will continue looking for my new dentist.
