I was referred to Janet M Bell CPA PC by a few people in my profession. I had never been to a CPA before so I scheduled my appointment and brought my paperwork with meAt first, she seemed really annoyed with me and was “short but then softened a bit.Once, she even said that I should do my own taxes.I didnt want to do my own taxes because I didnt want to make any mistakes.Despite my reservations, I decided to hire her to prepare my taxes.I had also hoped to use her for future tax matters as I continue to grow my business.I even sent her a ‘thank you note for her services (maybe that was too much but when you are a professional I think its important to do).Later on in the year, I had a few tax related questions (one or two) and she never responded.3 weeks later I called her and told her that I would not be needing her services again and that I would take my business elsewhere.If you are a professional and someone needs your advice/help then wouldnt it make sense to respond in some sort of way? When we spoke, she rather rudely admitted to having received my email (questions).So if she got the email, why not respond? Maybe I dont make enough money per year for her to take me seriously.Next time I get the feeling that a so-called professional doesnt want to be bothered, then I will go elsewhere from the beginning instead of being proved right with time. Lesson learned.
