Original Complaint against Joel Levy published at DirtyScam.com says, verbatim –

My experience with Loel started in April for the tax return. After providing the information requested, he emailed us that the return was done and the draft attached with a letter of authorization to email to the IRS.The attached letter said “Please let us know if you have any questions and let us know if you don’t as well.”I mailed the form on the way out of town at 12PM. When I reviewed the return at 10AM the next morning (giving me not even a day to review) and looking at my emails, I saw several glaring errors and omissions and these were large of several thousands of dollars like understating revenue and expenses on a business activity and not listing a large charitable contribution and listing all major contributions as cash and not completing the 8283form (as required in bold type on the return) AND he had already emailed the return to the IRS at 8 that morning. The major contributions were for stocks.I immediately called him and offered a few choice words and he was very flipent saying that we would just file an amended return and also made some poor words about the IRS.Plus there were other changes he made from the provided data which I could not figure out why.All of these were screaming issues for a complete audit, audit, audit. The amended return sent to the IRS did not include the most important form reconciling the old and the new which I had to send the IRS later.I received the refund in July of 2015 (15 months and long worries of what was happenilng) all because of his errors and then he even sent a form asking the IRS for an extension this year without my permission 20 days after I had already filed the return.Like I would use him again. Wonder what that will do with the IRS? Quite a saga to say the least. Extreme sloppiness at best. T. Ross Chapel Hill, NC
