Original Complaint against Pediatric Associates of Avon published at says, verbatim –

We will never go Pediatric Associates of Avon again. We started with Dr. Cosgrove. He’s fine until your child is sick. My son had had a fever every two weeks for months.Every time we’d visit, we were told it was nothing and wait and see. Then, my son had petechia. Cosgrove freaked out, had us give five vials of blood and didn’t tell us what any of the tests were determining.Later a nurse called us and informed us that everything was normal but no one explained why my child had petechia.I discovered online it could be from leukemia (which I’m sure that’s what they were testing for) or simply coughing too hard. But no one felt we needed to know this. Then when the fevers continued, I requested a referral to an ENT.He didn’t want to do that bc, well, he knew best and I didn’t know anything. This is how you are made to feel. Stupid. Stupid if you don’t know something and stupid if you have to ask.The last straw was when I insisted he needed his tonsils out bc he quit breathing. His response? “Well, how long did he quit breathing?” I replied, “nine seconds.”He cavalierly responded with am arm swing as if brushing it aside and said “oh. See. That’s fine. It’s not sleep apnea until they stop breathing for 20 seconds.” Nope. Not fine in my book.We went to an ENT and he was shocked that our child still had his tonsils and said that they were blocking his windpipe at night, causing snoring and waking him up every few hours to breathe properly. The tonsils were removed and in 3 years, my child has only had one fever since. If you have a healthy child and you never disagree with the doctor and are perfectly fine with the “lets wait and see” attitude, Cosgrove (and Gill, for that matter) is the person for you.Not me, thanks. Go see Dr. Duck. He listens, lets you ask a million questions without making you feel ignorant and looks at all possibilities while keeping you informed and doesn’t get pissy if you disagree with him.
