Do not buy from Chadwicks or Metrostyle! I ordered an item in early May and received an email on 5/25/11 saying the item was backordered so I called immediately and canceled the order. On 7/26/11 they charged my bank account $50 and sent the item. I called customer service and they acknowledged that it was their error and advised me to ship it back for a full refund plus shipping. nI called on 9/1/11 to inquire about my refund and was told it was processed on 8/26/11 and would be in my account in 2-3 months! I asked to speak to a supervisor and was promised one would call me back within 24 hours. I called back on 9/2/11 and was disconnected 3 times when I asked for a supervisor. nI have continued to call 17 more times in the last 3 months and have either been disconnected after 20-40 minutes on hold or when I do speak to someone their system is down and they will call me back in a day or two. Of course no one ever returns my calls. nToday they told me they are in bankruptcy and my refund is not even in their system and they are no longer Chadwicks of Boston, they are Chadwicks of Conneticut so they don’t have to honor any refunds. They gave me a case number and a phone number for the bankruptcy court in Massachusetts. When calling the number all I get is a useless recording. nI find it hard to believe that a company the size of Chadwicks/Metrostyle can get by with ripping so many people off. It isn’t so much about the $50, it’s about principle. Please don’t do business with them!
