When a client enters into psychotherapy, they commit themselves to an intimate connection in order to heal. I, in turn, commit to helping you in a way that is respectful, meets you where you are at, and honors your pace and style. I have often been told that I have a calm and healing presence. I work with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (ptsd), problems in relationships and living, and increasing satisfaction, balance, creativity and joy. In addition to traditional psychotherapy, I am trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and Energy psychotherapy methods. My primary specialty has been in eating disorders for the past twenty years. I have done therapy, research, workshops, presentations and supervision in this area. I also specialize in addiction and recovery, depression, anxiety, trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (ptsd), and relationship issues.Besides being a seasoned, experienced practitioner focused on the individual and family, I am also acutely sensitive to gender/power/societal and spiritual issues, as they may relate to some individuals. I am also trained in EMDR, a powerful method to heal psychological traumas and in energy psychology.
