Met “Rob Leftwich” at a restaurant in Miami Beach. My friends and I were waiting at the bar for our table and he struck up a conversation with us. Told us he was a reporter for a news station and that he produced news programs. Seemed normal enough. After 40 minutes, when a table opened up and the hostess came to get us, he just kind of forced his way over to our table and sat with us. We thought it was weird and pushy, but let it go and figured it didn’t matter if he ate with us and then we never saw him again. Mistake. First he ordered a bottle of white wine that he said was his favorite vintage that he wanted to treat us to. While we were eating, he started telling us all these stories about stalking his ex-wife, who he is obsessed with. He even called her several times from the table, which she never answered. By the end of the meal it had gone from her “not talking to him in years” to her allegedly agreeing by text that she would be coming to visit him the next day and saying she missed him. We could see why she divorced him! He also told us that he designed boats, designed city planning layouts for Miami and Aventura, and had traveled the world filming important things. We could tell at this point that he was a pathological liar and said we wanted to ask for the check, planning to get away from him as soon as possible. He said he would go grab the waitress and we saw him go over and speak to her, she came right to the table and asked if we wanted anything else. He never came back to the table. Vanished! We got stuck with his food bill and his multi hour bar bill. He cost us almost $300! And that bottle he wanted to treat us to? We ended up treating him I guess. We got scammed, and feel pretty stupid. But then when we looked for him online and saw all the other horrible stories people were posting about him it all made sense. He is a bad man! And he uses his real name for his scams! Avoid this man at all costs! He is a nutjob. Someone said he was wearing bad shoes in a previous post, and he WAS! They were really old looking, like he hasn’t replaced them in a decade. And he did talk about his stupid watch and how its battery was broken, one of my friends said to him that his type of watch didn’t use a battery and he just looked away and didn’t respond. Old shoes, broken watch, has no money, yuck.
