Complaint: 5/25/16 – First incident – Refinance closing – I printed 2 sets of documents which was close to 400 pages and drove 35 miles one way to find out after I arrived from the borrower that the amount needed to close was changed right before I arrived. I waited there for 1.5 hours for a new set of documents that the borrower was trying to print. I could not wait any longer because I had another scheduled closing to get to. I called the lender and The Notary Spot to explain this. I asked them about a print/trip fee since I used almost a ream of paper and drove 70 miles roundtrip to find out everything had changed on arrival in which I was NOT notified. I continued to send an invoice for $42.50 which was for 1/2 the amount to conduct the closing, placed calls, sent by fax and mail with no replies for 90+ days before I gave up. This was NO FAULT OF MINE but the owner refused to compensate me for anything. 6/25/16 – Second incident – Refinance closing – I fulfilled my contractual duties in good faith, completed the closing on time and followed all requirements he laid out. And also printed 2 sets of documents and mileage driven. I contined to send my invoice, past due notices for the agreed amount of $85 for 120 days by mail, email, and fax. I also placed calls which he refused to answer. The owner was paid by the Title Agency to hire a notary to conduct closing on their behalf but he DID NOT pay me. the notary therefore he kept all the money.
