This website called Writers Department that offers job opportunities as an online freelance writer through making an online account. Through their application the website asked for a resume and an essay. They also asked for my availability hours for work and how Id like to be paid.Their only option was PayPal and I thought that was suspicious. I did not give them any sort of information. It was also suspicious that I could not log in until after my talk with them. Within a few hours of submitting my app I got an e-mail from a woman named Olivia saying that they would like a phone interview to complete my application. This woman did not include a last name or a personal e-mail to contact her for the interview. We had scheduled a phone interview on a weekday but they did not call me at all.A few days later on the weekend I received a random call from her. She asked me general interview questions. Questions asking where I am from specifically, my educational back ground and three skills that free lance writers should have. Olivia also asked me about the sample essay I wrote and to talk about it. She kept asking me where I was from and I was vague. This woman just said,Oh I didnt recognize the accent.She claimed that she called me many times during the week for our scheduled phone interview but I received none at all. I replied saying that I received no calls from her and she simply ignored what I said. Olivia also said that I would receive an e-mail between 2-3 business days on the status of my app. I believe that they are likely phishing for information and may be stealing the written work of other writers.I am not going to reply to her e-mail if she sends it. I already reported her and sent a complaint referral. Do not trust this website at all! They are so unprofessional and did not even bother to give me a confirmation e-mail on the phone interview and were just plain rude. I also found out that they are criminals possibly from the Ukraine trying to get info from other people. I wish I knew better and I feel terrible.
