Original Complaint against Zions Bank published at DirtyScam.com says, verbatim –
Zions Banks service is extremely slow, and getting them to solve issues is impossible; even when they themselves are the cause. For the sake of brevity, I will only discuss the issue I had with them today, in which they literally stole $75.00 from me.However, this is not the only issue Ive had with them (e.g. failures to set up my business accounts correctly, losing money, refusing to allow me to deposit funds in my own account, etc.)On May 15, 2015, somebody made an unauthorized withdrawal from my account in the amount of around $130.00.Since I almost never use this account to pay for things, and havent used it at all for months, I didnt notice the withdrawal. I didnt expect it, so I didnt look.Zions Bank sends me spam emails on a daily basis for various services, programs, discounts, concerts, etc. However, they could not be bothered to notify me that somebody had made an unauthorized withdrawal that pushed my account below $0.00.Instead, they waited for almost 4 weeks, racking up hundreds of dollars in fees. When they did call me, they left a message right before 6:00 p.m., and didnt give me any details as to what the call was regarding, so they could rake up yet another days worth of fees.Once I figured out what had happened, I explained to Zions that I did not authorize the withdrawal and that it was a mistake (and even showed that the entity who had done the withdrawal admitted it was a mistake). They finally, magnanimously, refunded all but $75.00 of their fees. I didnt make the withdrawal, Zions didnt notify me (even though Im signed up to receive notifications regarding my account), and then they graciously stole $75.00.This is the first time Ive had a problem with unauthorized withdrawals and overdraft fees, but this is typical of my experiences with Zions.I finally closed my account with them today and will never have any kind of dealings with these thieves again. I suggest all their customers do the same. Why tolerate Zions Banks cant-do attitude, incompetence, and outright thievery when there are a million other banks and credit unions out there with better customer service, better websites, and a whole lot less stealing?Get out today!
